Disclaimer & Community Safety Notice

Better Together Project is a volunteer-led, community-based initiative. Our mission is rooted in kindness, connection, and service. To ensure clarity and safety for everyone involved, we offer the following information and disclaimers.

1. General Disclaimer

The information, resources, and items shared on this website, our social platforms, and through our in-person outreach efforts are provided for general community support. While we do our best to provide helpful, relevant, and safe information, Better Together Project makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the content shared.

All activities, resources, and items are offered “as is,” without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied.

2. Volunteer Liability

Better Together Project is run entirely by volunteers. By participating in any volunteer activity, including assembling or distributing care packages, individuals acknowledge and agree that:

  • They are responsible for their own safety and actions.

  • They voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.

  • Better Together Project, its founders, organizers, and volunteers cannot be held liable for injuries, accidents, or damages that may occur before, during, or after volunteer activities.

Volunteers are encouraged to use reasonable judgment, follow all local laws, and prioritize personal safety at all times.

3. Item Safety & Usage

The items placed inside our care packages — including snacks, hygiene products, warm gear, and printed materials — are donated or purchased from third-party vendors. While we aim to include safe, appropriate, and sealed items, we cannot guarantee:

  • The quality or condition of donated items

  • Possible allergic reactions or sensitivities

  • How items will be used after they are distributed

Recipients should use their own discretion and consult a medical or emergency professional if they have safety, health, or product concerns.

4. Fundraising Transparency

Better Together Project is not currently registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All funds received — including monetary donations, merchandise purchases, and supply contributions — are used solely to support our care package efforts, outreach materials, and community service initiatives.

We commit to:

  • Using funds responsibly for mission-aligned purposes

  • Being transparent about how donations support our efforts

  • Never using funds for personal gain

We appreciate your trust and support as we grow this initiative.

5. Donation Disclaimer

Because Better Together Project is not a registered 501(c)(3), donations are not tax-deductible at this time.

By donating to our project, individuals acknowledge and accept that:

  • Donations are voluntary

  • Donations will be used to support community-focused activities

  • No goods or services are guaranteed in exchange for financial gifts

  • Better Together Project is not liable for donor misunderstandings related to tax status or deductibility

If tax-deductible giving is required, we recommend consulting with a tax professional.
